GTA 6 ships as a single-player game. No online mode has been announced, and the official store listings say so plainly.
What the official listing actually says
On the PlayStation Store, GTA 6 is listed as 1 player and described as a single-player experience. The Xbox store uses the same wording. This is not one shop getting it wrong: it is how Rockstar has presented the game since preorders opened. Confirmed
What that does and does not mean
It means that on 19 November you are buying a single-player game. If what you want is to play with friends on day one, this is not that.
It does not mean multiplayer will never exist. GTA 5 shipped in September 2013 and GTA Online arrived two weeks later as a separate thing. Rockstar could do something similar. It simply has not said so.
Be careful with release dates for "GTA 6 Online" circulating online. There is nothing to date. No mode has been announced, so any date attached to it was invented by whoever published it.
GTA Online is not going anywhere
Rockstar has confirmed that GTA Online keeps getting support after GTA 6 launches. If that is where your friends and your money are, that does not change in November. Confirmed
