The GTA 6 map
GTA 6 is set in the state of Leonida, the game's version of Florida. Rockstar says it is roughly twice the size of the GTA 5 map, split across six regions.
Twice the size — and denser
The size figure comes from Rockstar in the Game Informer cover story. Rockstar has not published a measurement in square kilometres, so "about double GTA 5" is as precise as it gets. Confirmed
Size is not the interesting part, though. Vice City is also described as denser than Los Santos: more people and more traffic on the street. That turns out to matter for play, because congested roads make escaping the police genuinely harder.

Why "Leonida" and not "Florida"
The series always invents the state. San Andreas is California, Alderney is New Jersey, and Leonida is Florida. It gives Rockstar room to compress geography and to parody real places without naming them.
About those maps you have seen online
Rockstar has not published a map of Leonida. The detailed maps circulating come from the 2022 hack and from datamined builds that are now four years old. The map has changed since. Treat any coordinates you see as unreliable.
We will publish an interactive collectibles map when the game is out and the locations can be verified. Putting up guesses now would be worse than publishing nothing. Unconfirmed
